When you have children spaced out over a period of 7.5 years, you get the opportunity to try new things with each baby! I had my 3rd baby, Kate, in April and have been using a DockATot, which is something I didn’t have with either of my boys. I’m excited to share with I love the DockATot!
What’s a DockATot?
A DockATot is a 100% cotton multi-functional lounger.
It allows babies to
- rest
- play
- cuddle
- tummy time
- diaper changes
The DockATot is portable and lightweight and my daughter loves it because it offers her a bit more of a “womb like” feel because of the sides on it.
The DockATot comes in two sizes-
We are currently using the DockATot Deluxe for our two month old and I am so happy we have it!
One of the reasons I love it is because it’s going to be so easy when we travel. This is so much smaller than a pack and play! Our families don’t live in town so this is going to be a great solution for a place for her to nap when we travel to visit our families.
Is DockATot safe for sleeping?
Nothing is safer than a crib with baby on their back, but I feel comfortable allowing my baby to sleep in her DockATot at nap time. With that said, you need to do your own research in regards to what you feel safe with your baby sleeping in.
I like to use the DockATot during the day for nap time. I can take it with me anywhere around my house and she is able to sleep so I can do laundry, dishes or pump while she’s sleeping.
How much does a DockATot cost?
I have the DockATot Deluxe which is the one you start with for infants 0-8 months. The current price of a DockATot Deluxe in Pristine White is $175. There are many other covers available and some are higher but the basic one is what I chose.
When should I switch to a DockATot Grand?
The DockATot Grand is not recommended for any infant under the age of 9 months. It can be used from 9-36 months and is a larger Dock. If your baby is under 9 months you will want to start with the DockATot Deluxe.
Some uses for the DockATot Grand are
- cuddling
- playing
- lounging
- resting
There are many reasons why I love the DockATot to use with our baby. It isn’t a necessity but it sure is nice to have!

I enjoy your blog, but I’m disappointed you would use your platform to promote a product like the DockATot. I absolutely support your right to sleep your child(ren) however you choose, but it is irresponsible to publish an article implying the DockATot is able to be used for overnight sleep and without any disclaimer that there have been infant deaths related to the product being used in this way. Many new moms reading your blog may take this post at face value without doing any due diligence on the intended use of the product or recommendations from the AAP.
I have updated my post to only approve for naps when a baby is supervised. Thank you for the education about it.
